The University of Cincinnati recognizes its role as a leader in ecological stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity and seeks to incorporate the concept of sustainability into its academic and research programs; the design, operation, and maintenance of its buildings and landscapes; and its organizational structure and management; while preserving safety and comfort.
UC’s Office of Sustainability reports to PACES (President’s Advisory Council on Environment and Sustainability) and is comprised of the Sustainability Director, Shawn Tubb, and twelve Sustainability Advocates. PACES was named in 2007 when then-President Nancy Zimpher signed the ACUPCC (otherwise known as the President’s Climate Commitment).
The Office of Sustainability has enjoyed state and national recognition, and UC was named by the 2010 Princeton Review as a Green Leadership School.
